3 Reasons Why You Should Do ‘It’ Now

Many of us have one or more burning desires in our hearts; unpublished books in our storage devices, proposals not yet pitched, singles waiting to be released, applications yet to be launched, *insert yours here*.  All these unfulfilled dreams desperately seek avenues for expressions. Still, some of us turn down the volume of those yearnings. Worse still, some completely shut the doors to the possibility of birthing the dreams. Please, do not. Do not shut that door. Do not dim your light.  There are surely more than 14 reasons why you need to do “IT” now. Nevertheless, I decided to mention 3 reasons only because I truly believe 3 points brief enough to be sticky and doable, starting NOW.

1. God believes in your abilities.

Friend, God believes in you. Do not doubt yourself! Stop overthinking things. If you look deep down, you know the truth. You know the value you’ve got to offer people. You know what you can bring to the table. But you say, “But what if…” But what?! Quit doubting your abilities. Your knowledge, skillset, past failures, victories, all your life experiences are tools some persons need to hear and read in order to get out of the rut they are currently in. God created you for a definite purpose. He didn’t make a mistake by endowing you with those gifts and abilities. He wasn’t in error when He caused you to be birthed in that Nation you hail from. It’s time to start from where you stopped! You have paused for too long. Time waits for no one. God believes in your abilities, and so do I.

“This is what God said: Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you.”

Jeremiah 1:4-5a The Message Bible

2. Fear is not final - Your decisions and actions are.

The ball is your court. We have all felt fear one time or the other in our lives. But the thing is- what we do with those fears determine the results we get, good or bad. To get the results we so desire, we have got to take timely actions. Having the vision is not enough. Courage they say is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it. Courage is making known the fact that your dreams are greater than your fears, even though your fears may be valid, of which most times, they aren’t. Most times, our fears are mere mirages. Turn your fears into your fuel. You and I know in our hearts of hearts when we ought to get something done, when we need to execute a project. Still, there’s often that monster in the form of a thought that makes us want to shudder. Friend, ride on the monster. Act on Nike’s slogan, “Just Do It!” Decide and take timely actions NOW.

Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 Amplified  Bible, Classic Edition

3. We need what you have to give.

Your talents, gifts, and skills are not for you. Your tips, tricks, and best practices are meant to solve our problems. Your songs are meant to calm hurting souls and connect with our emotions. Your jokes and skits will give us the entertainment we need. The online course, podcasts, masterminds, all those things you’ve been staying chilled with are what we need. They don’t have to be perfect. We aren’t. Do not deprive the world of your salt and light. Release them! Release the gifts and skills!

For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”

Romans 11:29 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

Bonus: Your excuses are overrated.

I figured adding one more reason will hurt no one. You see those excuses you’ve been using to pancake your ‘inability’ to birth those dreams? They are overrated. If the world leaders leaders you greatly admire gave excuses on their journey to birthing their dreams, they’d have never been referred to as world leaders. They’d be mediocres. Excuse is a language, and mediocres speak it fluently. I could have come up with many excuses regarding today’s blog post. My neck currently hurts. I have an Instagram Live session to attend to in a few hours. There’ll be many other Saturdays to put up posts. Yesterday, I didn’t publicly mention that a post will be up today. I could go on and on. As long as you and I keep looking for excuses, we’ll keep finding them. The moment you stopping looking for excuses, you’ll most likely begin to take full responsibility for your life and the realization of the future you so desire.

“Then said I, Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am only a youth. But the Lord said to me, Say not, I am only a youth; for you shall go to all to whom I shall send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.”

Jeremiah 1:6-7 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

It’s time, my friend, it’s time. God believes in you. Your fear won’t get the best of you except to permit it to. Your gifts and skills are needed. Your excuse is not valid. Stop giving it. I can’t wait to see the fruits of the actions you’ll take. I’m cheering you on.

You have a number 5, 6, and 7 reason? Kindly share with me in the comments section.

With love and passion,

Ashley
