One Game-Changer That Sets You Up For The Day

The subsets of our lifetime are years, months, weeks, days, hours and seconds. How frustrating will it be when one reaches the end of his days and discovers that he didn’t live fully? My friend, that’s no one’s prayer. The way many of us use our seconds, hours, and days give a glimpse of what the distant future will look like.

How was yesterday for you? Did you accomplish your set goals (or most of them)? Did you set any? My intention today is not to discuss about goal setting. Although it’s an all-time  game changer for living, there’s something I’ve doing lately that’s been working beautifully for me.

Let me show you five scriptures that’ll unveil the beauty and power of this gamechanger to you.

“Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”

Genesis 1:1-3, New Living Translation (emphasis added)

“Wise words bring many benefits.”

Proverbs 12:14, New Living Translation

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Proverbs 18:21, New International Version

“It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”

Matthew 15:11, New Living Translation

“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”

Proverbs 16:24, English Standard Version

The power of your words

To set yourself up for days you’d remain grateful for, you have to leverage the power of right words. The importance of our words cannot be overemphasized. It is your duty to deliberately and conscientiously speak the right words into your day. If the Creator of Heaven and Earth had to speak, who are we to keep mute? In the Beginning, God intentionally spoke life-giving words to receive life-giving results. A lot of persons wake up and just go through their day, uttering careless words; how the economy only gets worse, how people are being laid off their jobs, how the problems in their lives keep piling up (I believe that is not you.) They are oblivious to the power embedded in their words. You speak life, you get life. You speak otherwise, your guess is as good as mine.

Just last week, I wrote down 41 sentences to speak to myself each morning, and the results speaking those words have been tremendous. The words of affirmations I created are based on the reality I long to see manifested daily in my life. For some of us, light just got turned on in our hearts. For some, it’s an old practice. Whatever category we may belong to, it is needful to say what you want to see.

On the first day I engaged in this practice, it felt great. On the 2nd, I noticed the need to also focus all my mental energies while speaking those words. While I spoke in front of my bathroom mirror, I engaged in the art of imagination. The difference was clear! At some point, I bursted out laughing  and praying in other tongues because it was as though my imaginations were my then present reality. Oh! How my words have helped me shape my days! Although I didn’t get it a hundred every time, the difference is very clear. In my thinking and visualization of self, I am no longer where I used to be—in just one week!

Friend, if you haven’t been doing so already, I encourage you to kickstart your day with Words of Affirmation. As soon as you rise from sleep and give thanks to God for sustenance, depending on what your morning schedule is (word study, lay your bed, workout etc.)  do not miss out on speaking life giving words to yourself in front of a mirror.  It works, beautifully.

Let me mention some of my words of affirmation

  • Because the Word of God is my meditation, day and night, and because I delightfully do what God commands, prosperity and good success are my identity.
  • Because Charity begins at home, I selflessly serve and love my family with my time, energy and resources.
  • Because I have the mind of Christ, I see solutions revealed to me by the Holy Spirit and my mind catches them because I operate in God’s frequency.

As you prepare your words of Affirmation, do them prayerfully and creatively. Write all you want to see. And speak with zest, excitement and total consciousness of the power of your life giving words.

Lastly, please do not cancel the effect of your life-giving words by going through your day saying what you do not want to see. Instead of complaining about the problem at your place of work, tell yourself that although there is are problems, the solutions can and will be gotten. Truth is- your life is in your mouth. Speak like it.

With love and passion,

Ashley
