The Modus Operandi of Every Christian

Every Christian’s modus operandi (mode of operation) ought to reflect Jesus Christ. You cannot operate like the world and live the God kind of life. In other words, to live the Genesis 1:28 life, our modus operandi has to be prescribed by God.

The way (we) Christians live, what we do and what we refrain from doing ought not be hidden. The fruits of our walk with God should be apparent for all to see.

What's The Modus Operandi of a Typical Christian?

A Word Guided Life

Dear Christian, take a good look at your life. If you have done so, can you boldly predicate that the life you live is guided by God’s Word? Or do you live on your terms?

Calling ourselves Christians and not having time to study, meditate and do God’s Word is wrong and detrimental. If you bear the name and mark of Christ, you must live the commensurate life. The modus operandi of a Christian is next to NOTHING if God’s Word is not the foundation in one’s life.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:8 NIV

A Prayer Padded Life

“Prayer is the master key.” Those words are most likely familiar to you. And they are true. Show me a Christian who is given to effective prayer and I will show you a Christian whose life is filled with divine presence, direction, answers, and speed. To mention those few.

My emphasis  is on effective prayers because a good number of Christians pray amiss. Words spoken to God without faith are already set on a failed course. Also, when you know God’s will and you praying for something contrary, you are only deceiving yourself.

May I ask? When you pray, do you take some time to listen for God’s Voice? Also, do you back your prayers with scriptures? In addition, do you pray only when you feel like? Very importantly, do you spend all your prayer time asking God for things that only concern you and yours? Your answers to the above questions will determine if you are really operating as a Christian.

The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29 NLT

The Christian Modus Operandi - Live life on God's terms

The Mindful Life

The need for a Christian to live a mindful life can never be overstated. Some of the things to be mindful of as a Child of God include:

  • Your thoughts: Your predominant thoughts will determine the kind of life you’ll live. What you think is who you really are. Guard your mind with your life because it’s that serious. (Proverbs 4:23)

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8 NLT

  • Your words: Think before you talk. Season your words with salt. Let your words build and not break, heal and not injure, give life and not cause death.

“Let your speech at all times be gracious and pleasant, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer each one [who questions you].” Colossians 4:6 AMP

  • Your company: Your relationships determine how far you will go in life. Choose your company wisely.

“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”” 1 Cor 15:33 NIV

  • Your Appetite: Have you heard of the saying,”You are what you eat”? Dear Christian, if you want to live long and healthy to do God’s work on the earth, you’ll eat like it. Stuffing yourself with overly processed foods and carbonated drinks will only cut your days short. Eating 4 big pieces of red meat/fish with every meal doesn’t reveal your wealth. It only shows your fooly. Your body is God’s temple. Eat with that consciousness.

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.” 1 Cor 6:19 NLT
